About Me

My photo
This is Siddharth Satpathy, 3rd year M.S student at NISER Bhubaneswar. Starting in a very lighthearted manner I would like to introduce myself as 'a confused wannabe great scientist'. I was born and brought up in the peaceful city of Bhubaneswar, and had my schooling in the same city from five different schools. That may sound a bit weird considering the five were not very different from each other. But it provided me with a wonderful oppurtunity to learn the simple but often deceiving art of socialising at a very young age. As a boy I was very introvert by nature, but this was something I learnt to overcome pretty easily once I realised its demerits. The present day Siddharth is a very curious, inquisitive and ambitious guy who hopes to rub shoulders with some of the great 21st century scientists some day. But as they say 'Dreams remain dreams until brought to fruitition'. This much is perhaps enough for the day for my dear readers. Obviously this isn't the end of the story, but time tells me that I have to switch over to other tasks immediately. So thanks guys for lending me a patient eye (not ear).Have a nice day.

NISER

NISER Bhubaneswar is envisioned to be one of the premier science institutions in India. It is an unique institution of its kind where both students as well as the faculty strive to set new standards in the realms of science education and research. Operating under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy, India, NISER is expected to have the twin attributes of exemplary science education and state-of-the-art research. As one of the highest funded science institutions in the country, NISER aims to introduce young minds to the excitements in the frontier of knowledge in all branches of fundamental science.

The academic programme is designed to provide strong foundations to students, through core courses, before they embark at the threshold of research in the field of their choice. However, NISER's curriculum ensures that every student is introduced to excitements in the frontiers of knowledge in other branches of fundamental sciences. NISER strives to create an environment of scientific culture where every member will excel in any field he desires to pursue.

NISER recognizes that modern scientific research is carried out in a domain without any boundaries. The undergraduate students and research scholars will flourish in the ambiance of this scientific culture. In this perspective, it is expected that faculty members from different schools would try to establish centres of research in inter-disciplinary areas while discharging their teaching duties of core courses of the respective schools.
